One of the hikes in the tourprogram 10 tourfavorites in Ål 2018.
How to get there:
Drive up Vestlia from Ål Railwaystation (Vestlivegen) and follow the road to Bosset (about 11 kilometres from the station). Toll road.
At Bosset, approximately 100 metres after Bossetvegen 611.
From Bosset follow the marked path towards Restjørnan. Some parts of the path can bee a bit marshy. After about 2,1 kilometres exit to the left and follow this path until you reach Bispen (about 1,2 kilometres).
Standing at Bosset and looking towards Bispen you can see the profile of a person with a long nose and a big stomach. Some people think it looks like a bishop, that is who it go its name.
From Bispen you have a great view towards Sangenuten in West and Dyna in a Eastern direction.
If you want to make the trip a roundtrip walk down from Bispen, follow the path towards Dyna, then towards Oddetjørni and back to Bosset.
Something to see:
Midway between Bosset and Restjørnan you can see an old smokehouse. It is about 70 - 80 metres off the path, on your left-hand-side. Torstein Sataslåtten made this 60 - 70 years ago and was used to smoke fish he fished himself. As late as in 2017 his son, Hallgrim, used this smokehouse and it still workes.
6,6 kilometres back and forth. 1055 - 1065 masl.
