What You’ll Do

Together with Folgefonni Breførarlag guides, you’ll gear up for the trip at Fonna Glacier Ski Resort, then you’ll be off on your adventure! There are usually two daily departures, so the trip can be adjusted to how challenged you want to be - a glacier hike, ice climbing, or something in between. You’ll learn all the tips and tricks for maneuvering on the diverse topography of Juklavass Glacier, whether it’s on flat ice, deep cracks in the ice, or high slopes.

Throughout the trip, you’ll learn about the physical geography of the area as well as the cultural history. During the break, enjoy incredible views of the North Sea and the Rosendal Alps. While making your way back to the base camp, you’ll be awestruck by how the afternoon light shines on fjords and mountains in the distance.

On the trip, you’ll hike 5 to 6 km. General fitness is required. Please note there is a maximum of 10 to 12 people per glacier guide.
