About Bakkeløypa
A nice cross-country tour which fits the family. The trail has slopes that are fun for some and more challenging to others. This tour is often one of the first trails to be prepared in Bjorli.
Getting there
To get to the starting point; from the roundabout at Bjorli, continue 300 meters in the direction of Åndalsnes on E136. Take a left turn. Free parking at the Bjorli railway station/recycling center. Otherwise you can park along the dead end to the west.
Alternative starting point is by the Bølia ski stadium. Drive the E136 towards Dombås from the roundabout. After 1,5 km you follow the signs to the left towards Rånå. Drive across the river and take the first exit to the left.
Trail description
The trail is prepared for two classic tracks as well as freestyle. Recommended skiing direction is counterclockwise. It starts by the railway station in Bjorli towards west and crosses the river Rauma. When you arrive a crossroad in the tracks on a big field, you turn right. This is the start and end of the tour. In the beginning the trail is smooth before it goes upwards. Keep straight ahead (slightly left) at the cross where Brøstdalsløypa takes to the right. By the mailbox, it goes flat a little bit before a long and winding downhill. After the slopes it flattens out and one continues over the flats until one comes back to the big grounded where the round started.
