Uranostinden is a spring classic in Jotunheimen and frequently visited on skiis from both Tyinholmen and Eidsbugarden.
The best (and only) way to get to Tyinholmen and Eidsbugarden is by snowmobile. The snowmobile-trip starts at Tyin and ends up at one of the two destinations. Schedule: http://www.jvb.no/no/beltebiler/
The best way to get to Tyin is by bus from Oslo or Bergen or by car. There is a big parking lot at startpoint.
We describe the trip from Eidsbugarden here. If you start the trip from Tyinholmen the two routes will follow mostly the same path.
After skiing up to Sløtatjernet its hilly landscape all the way to Uranosbreen where the real ascend towards the top starts. Its not very steep and all together quite nice skiing up the glacier. Just before you walk past Uraknatten, take straight west up to the ridge and follow this south to the top.
From the top all of Jotunheimen is under you. Be aware that the last 15 meters are very steep on both sides of the ridge.
