Pack-Rafting On Raudøla River (Half-Day) Paddling
Cruise down the river in mini-rafts with Beito Husky Tours
Experience the serenity and thrills of a family-friendly paddling tour down the Raudøla river. Using modern lightweight inflatable boats called pack-rafts, you'll be guided along the water passing through a mix of calm areas perfect for spotting wildlife, and small rapids for some quick thrills. Pack-rafting provides a unique perspective on the local nature and is gaining popularity in Norway as a safe and green way to explore areas not easily accessible by other types of boats. No previous experience is required to join the tour and children are welcome. You'll receive a full introduction before you begin and refreshments along the way.

What You’ll Do
Our tour leaders are skilled and experienced nature guides, committed to providing a fun and safe adventure. No previous rafting or paddling experience is needed and the day's activities will be adapted to the skills and desires of the group.
When you arrive at our base in Beito, we’ll give a short introduction on what we plan on doing for the next few hours. We then start by heading towards the river, a 10 minute walk away. The size and durability of our rafts allows for them to be tucked into backpacks. Once we reach our starting point, we'll inflate our rafts. We will take some time to learn about safety procedures, and then we’re off.
The tour begins in fairly calm waters, through areas where it’s possible to observe the local birdlife, and during the autumn season there is a chance you might spot the king of the Norwegian forest, the moose.
Further down the river we will encounter some fun rapids, and if you feel like it, you can take a dip in the fresh mountain stream. You are welcome to bring your action camera for those unforgettable moments splashing through white water.
After floating to the end we deflate our rafts and carry the equipment to the cars. It is a good idea to bring some warm clothes to put on once we are ashore, as you might get a little wet. Water resistant shoes are also recommended.

The scenic routes Sognefjellsvegen and Valdresflye are perfect entry points to Beitostølen. Sections of the roads are closed from November to April due to snow. Check the National Tourist Routes in Norway to ensure the roads are open.
From Oslo, take Valdresekspressen. The journey from Oslo to Beitostølen takes around 3.5 hours.
There is no train leading directly to Beitostølen, but you can take the Dovrebanen line to Otta. From Otta you can rent a car with Hertz or take the bus to either Gjendesheim or Lom (bus number 501 from Otta, with one transfer at Vågåmo rutebilstasjon to bus 560).
