Langøyene is an island in the Oslofjord and is home to one of the largest and best sandy beaches in Oslo. It also has 3 beach volleyball courts, a large grassy field, areas to camp, and hiking trails.
The main beach is crescent shaped and is accessible by the only paved road on the island. The water there is rather shallow and close to the kiosk. There are plenty of hiking trails too, which allows you to hike around the entire island. There is a nudist beach located on the southeastern tip, where the cliffs are rather steep and rocky.
Langøyene is one of the few islands in the inner fjord where camping is allowed. Tents can be set up on the northern and southern sides of the island for up to 7 days. Grills are allowed, however, campfires are prohibited.
Take ferry number B4 from Rådhusbrygge 4 [City Hall Pier 4] (located near the “Rådhuset”, “Aker Brygge”, and “Nationaltheatret” public transportation stops) to Langøyene. This ferry runs May through September and is operated by Ruter, so there is no need to buy an additional ticket if you already hold a Ruter pass.
