About Tjuvholmen Beach

Want to sunbathe and have a quick dip into the sea, but don’t have much time to travel far? Tjuvholmen is the perfect place. It’s located just south of Aker Brygge on the Astrup Fearnley Museum campus. The beach boasts shallow waters, lots of grass for sunbathing, and even a sculpture park. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area if you’re having a picnic.

Getting there

Take any T-bane line (1 2 3 4 5) to “Nationaltheatret”, bus 30 or 31 to “Rådhuset”, or tram 12 to “Aker Brygge”. Then walk about 10 minutes along Aker Brygge towards the water and the Astrup Fearnley Museum. The beach will be just after the museum canopy.

You will find parking at “Carpark at Munkedamsveien 27” or in the parking facilities behind Statoil Vestre Vika at “Dronning Mauds gate 10B”.
