About Ingierstrand Beach
Ingierstrand Beach is located about 25 minutes southeast of downtown Oslo on the Bunnefjord in Oslofjord. The western side of the beach has large flat flagstones, which are surprisingly comfortable to lay on. While the eastern side has sand and grass areas. The entire bathing area, including the showers, were designed in the modernist style of the 1930s. It’s a perfect place to bring a picnic and grill, but you can also eat at the Ingierstrand Bad Restaurant or purchase food from the kiosk. If you’re interested in hiking, check out the Ingierstrand loop, which will take less than an hour.
Ingierstrand Beach is home to an iconic 4-level diving board at 1.5, 3, 5, and 10 meters.
There’s also a diving platform on the eastern side of the beach. The shallow areas are perfect for crab fishing, so bring a small net too!
Transport from Oslo
Take bus 87, “Ingierstrand”, from the Tollboden bus stop, located between the Opera and Oslo S in downtown Oslo. The bus departs from platform N and typically leaves once per hour.
If traveling via car, you will find two large public parking lots at Ingierstrandveien 30, located across the road from the beach.
