About Nature and cultural heritage at Dalsida

This nature and cultural trail runs through varied countryside at Dalsida in Lesja. 27 information posters are spread throughout the trail witch informs you of the local flora and fauna, as well as how people have exploited the nature resourses throughout the ages. The oldest signs of human activity in this area is 5500 years old.

The trail is about 10 km long, but it is possible to do just parts of the trail, depending on wich posters you would like to go to and how far you want to walk. The trail starts and finishes at the junction by Nysetre, about 13 km along Dalsidevegen from the E136 highway. Exit off E 136 at Aurtande, the signs say to Aursjøen and Sjong seter. Toll road.

Sections of the trail run through marshland and damp ground. In June and July it is generally best to use boots or hiking shoes.
