Ustetind is a mountain North East on Hardangervidda, Souht of Ustaoset. From Ustetind you have an amazing view of Hardangervidda to the South, and in good weather you can see Gaustatoppen. To the North you can see the Hallingskarvet mountain plateau.
From Geilo the trip takes about 3 hours up and 2 hours down, but Ustetind can also be reached by shorter hikes from Ustaoset or Tuva tourist cabin.
From the centre of Geilo you follow the nice path along Ustedalsfjorden to Tuftebrua bridge, West of Ustedalsfjorden. It is built in a special timber construction. Frome here, the trail goes off the main path and winds up the steep birch wood hill. When you reach above the tree line your effort pays off: the view of Ustedalen and Geilo is beautiful.
The track continues South-West in easy terrain.
