This cross-country trail provides incredible views towards Hardangervidda and Hallingskarvet and starts less than 10 minutes drive south of downtown Geilo. In season, Ruperanden cabin makes a perfect stopping point to relax and enjoy some homemade treats.
From Geilo, drive south along road 40 for about 5 km until you reach Kikut Fjellstue situated on the western side of the road. Park in the parking lot across the road from Kikut and enter the ski trail from here. Alternatively, there is parking further south by Svartsteintjørne.
From the parking lot across the street from Kikut Fjellstue, the trail heads towards the east. The trail travels across hilly and varied mountain landscape. Head south towards Ruperanden, taking a break at the cabin. The trail then turns towards the north, continuing to Bruslettstølen before returning to Kikut.
Ruperanden cabin, located at the southeastern point of the trail, offers refreshments. Ask around in Geilo or check the Facebook page (in Norwegian) to confirm the opening hours. Always take enough food and drinks in case the cabin is closed.
