About Nonshøa in Skaret
The trip up Nonshøa is an easy ski touring option in a popular area at the southern edge of Trollheimen. Nonshøa is often a suitable destination early in the season and provides lovely views over Trollheimen and Skarvatnet lake. The summit sits at 1,213 meters above sea level.
The trail starts at the parking lot in Skardalen, located at the northern end of Skarvatnet lake. To get there, follow road 70 west from Oppdal. After about 7 km, just past the Vognildsbua shop, turn right. Follow this road for about 13 km until you reach the parking lot on your left-hand side.
From the parking lot, follow the cross-country ski trail along the road to the south. The track has a slight incline, bring you to the top of a hill with views of Skarvatnet lake below. From there, continue west up to Nonshøa.
For the descent, the best conditions are found skiing down towards Skarvatnet lake. Then, follow the cross-country ski trail back up towards the parking lot.
