Løvstakken is one of the most famous peaks around Bergen. The peak is part of what is called the Seven Mountains around Bergen. From the top you will have magnificent views of the city center, Ulriken and Fløyen.
The trail starts at Løvstakkveien right south of the city center. There is no parking near the trailhead so you need to park your car elsewhere and walk up to the trailhead. Walking from the city center will take about 35-40 minutes.
Alternatively, you can take the bus to a bus stop closer to the trailhead and walk from there. You can see the different alternatives for bus transport at Entur.
From the start at Løvstakkveien, zig-zag your way up the trail. The trail starts climbing immediately. As you get past the first 500-600 meters the trail will ascend more slowly and you have time to enjoy the views. There are a lot of trails in this area so as soon as you get out of the wooden area aim for the big cairn at the top.
- Some areas are quite muddy
