About Løvstakken

Løvstakken is one of the most famous peaks around Bergen as one of the Seven Mountains. From the top are views of the city center and surrounding mountains including Ulriken and Fløyen.

Getting there

The trail starts at Løvstakkveien south of the city center. There is no parking near the trailhead. Walking from the city center takes about 35–40 minutes. Alternatively, take a bus

Trail description

The trail starts climbing immediately, zig-zagging up the hill. After the first 500–600 meters the ascent slows with more time to enjoy the views. There are a lot of trails in the area so as soon as the travel leaves the woods aim for the big cairn at the top.

Facts

  • Some areas can be quite muddy
