About Trolltinden

Visit the Island Vega along the coast of Helgeland and hike the mountain Trolltind. From the top of Trolltind (Trollvasstind) a magnificent view is waiting in all directions - northwards towards the open sea, towards the mainland and the entire mountain range along the coast of Helgeland and thousands of islands, islets and sheaves that together constitute the Vega island.

Getting there

Trolltinden is located on the Island Vega. To get there you need to take the ferry or speed boat (hurtigbåt) from Brønnøysund.

The starting point of the trail is found 9,3km from the entry point of the speed boat, Rørøy. Follow road number 90 to Åsen. Continue on the gravel road between Åsen and Gullsvåg. Information plate at the parking lot.

Trail description

The first part of the trip is through flat terrain, below the surrounding mountains.

Follow the signs taking you to Trollvasstind. The trail has some steep stretches. The hike requires good physical condition and being comfortable with steep hills.

The trip is best to take in the evening in the summer, so that you get a glimpse of the midnight sun.

Where to stay

Stay at Vega Havhotell to get the full experience of the Island, the local food and the people living there. The hotel is located 10km from Rørøy where you are entering with the speed boat or ferry from Brønnøysund.
