  • Den siste biten av turen går til toppen av Bitihorn. En riktig spektakulær avslutning på en tur som ellers går rolig stølsterreng.

About Stølimellom

The highlands stretching from Melsenn to Bitihorn is filled with mountain farms, trails and gravel roads. Hiking in the area is a special experience where the scope of past exploitation of mountain areas becomes apparent. Mountain farms and hunting was essential for survival earlier. Stølimellom is a combined hiking and mountainbike route. Follow the track and it will take you through the landscapes, ending up on the iconic summit Bitihorn. We would recommend to split the hike in to day trips. Some of the mountain farms are still active and you can pay Olestølen a visit along the route. Archaeological investigations in Vinsternområdet show traces of hunting and fishing already 8000 years ago. Mountain farming have created a unique cultural landscape. The entire route is about 55 km. The journey will definitely give you new and unique experiences. Hiking the complete route involves detailed planning, hiking gear and food for several days. Doing the complete hike is for experienced hikers only. Day trips and pieces of the route can be done by everyone.
