Getting there

From Oslo, follow E18 east towards Kristiansand for nearly 96 kilometers until you reach exit 35-Gullikrysset for Rv308 toward Tønsberg/Nøtterøy/Tjøme. Follow Fv308 for 12 kilometers until turning right onto Tenvikveien. Continue on Tenvikveien for another 5.7 kilometers until you reach your destination.

Trail description

From Tenvik, the route heads north along the shoreline. After about 1 kilometer, paddle west to the northern tip of the island, Håøya. Continue westward, past the northern tip of Håøya and across the fjord to the south side of Ravnø island. You will find beach here and even more beaches on the eastern side of the island. On the northwest side of Ravnø, there is also a nice place to land the kayak and take a break.

Continue paddling north to Gåsø island, which also has a nice recreational area and several nice places to land on the north and on the west side. From there, paddle 200 meters over to Gåsøkalven island, which is also a nice island with a recreational area and a good place to land your kayak. Cross over to the peninsula, Trælsodden, just northeast of Gåsøkalven island.

From Trælsodden, follow the coastline north in well-sheltered waters. There are few buildings along the shoreline and it is a great stretch to paddle along. After one and a half kilometers north of Trælsodden, you will arrive to Brunstad's recreational area. A few miles further north, you will reach Rossnessodden peninsula, a well-facilitated recreational area with a great beach.

From Rossnessodden peninsula, paddle east across the fjord to Nøtterøy to the swimming beach at Hella and continue south. At the Glomstein marina, you will see a beach on the south side of the jetty, another great place to take a break before following the shoreline back to Tenvik.

At Tenvik you can find:

  • Public restrooms
  • Fresh water
  • Parking
