About Sandsletta to Hagemannsparken
Short and nice tour to Hagemannsparken in Holmestrand city. This is a great route for beginners.
From Oslo, follow E18 east towards Kristiansand for nearly 50 kilometers until you reach exit 28-Bergsenga-krysset for Rv313 toward Sande N. Follow Rv313 south for 20 kilometers until you reach Rv315 and Holmestrand. Drive through Holmestrand and back onto Rv313 for another 5 kilometers until you reach the road, Sandsveien, directing you to “Sand Camping”. Follow the road for a few hundred meters following signs to Sand Camping and where you will find parking.
From Sandletta, the paddling route heads north along the shoreline in rural surroundings. Soon you will pass the small boat docks at Snekkestad and the shoreline becomes quite steep. There are a few areas where you can land and stretch your legs.
On the northern point of the peninsula, Mulodden, you will pass a famous lighthouse. Here you have a good view over the sandy bay to the west and the island, Langøya, to the northeast. This point is also a popular fishing spot.
After passing the northern point of Mulodden, the route heads west and then south towards the shallow waters of Mulvika bay. The trip continues north along the shoreline, past the industrial area, to Felleskjøpet. Here you may be paddling near larger boats, so be aware.
Paddle into Hagemannsparken, a beautiful recreation area on the outskirts of Holmestrand center, where you can enjoy a nice break before returning to Sandsletta along the same route.
At Sandletta you can find:
- Toilet, fresh water, shower facilities
