About Skjervika to Tvillingbru

A kayak trip from Skjervika to Holmestrand is a perfect route for beginners. The route takes you through sheltered waters along the western shoreline of Sandebukta bay and by a perfect place for a relaxing rest at Tvillingbru, a new recreational area near the coastal trail.

The adventure is part of Padleled Vestfold and the entry point for the adventure is Skjervika.

Getting there

From Oslo, follow E18 east towards Kristiansand for nearly 50 kilometers until you reach exit 28: “Bergsenga-Krysset” toward Sande N. Follow Fv313 for 12 kilometers through Sande and until you reach a sign for “Skjervikbukta” directing you to the left, onto Gamleveien road. Make another immediate left and the parking lot and the big grassy area will be on your right.

Trail description

From Skjervika, paddle south towards Holmestrand. The entire trip takes you along the shoreline in sheltered waters. The wind can still pick up in this area but if you have a headwind one way, you’ll enjoy the extra help when you paddle the opposite direction.

The best place to take a break is located halfway along the route, at the newly built rest area at Tvillingbru, which is found along the new coastal path. Continue paddling to Holmestrand and return back to Skjervika along the same route.

At Skjervika you can find:

  • Public toilets
  • Parking
