About Murkelie - Bjødnhovd

Trip on prepared trails, partly in the summer farm landscape south of Vasetvatnet, but also through open spaces. Follow the yellow trail along the hill at Vasetvatnet past Vasetstølen (alt., drive in there and park by the winter parking after 1.6 km). Continue flat and easy along the water and eventually slightly upward to the trail crossing (if you want to go a shorter round, you can turn left here, steeper upward and then slightly hilly to Kvælestølen down to Vaset center, 9 km in total from the parking lot at Sekskanten) . To Murkelie keep straight ahead in this intersection and continue 800 m from the junction at Murkelie. Here turn left towards Bjødnhøvd. The trail rises steadily to nearly 1,000 meters above sea level. 5 km after Murkelie the red trail takes off to the right (toward Krististølen). Keep left towards Kvålestølen here, nice and long descent to Vaset center. The trip is just about 15km. Updated trail status: www.skisporet.no/Oppland/Vaset. Getting there: Drive E16 to Ulnes following signs to Panoramaveien and Vaset to Vaset center. Parking at Sekskanten, on the right after the bridge.
