Here at Bilden you ́ll find three barrows and a site with ritual stones. Burial customs have varied through the ages. The same grave may contain one or several bodies, and these may have been cremated or not. Religion, sex, social status and power during their lives were important regarding the design of the grave and the grave site.
In Norway there are about 400 ritual stone sites. Popularily they are often called Thing sites. Some of these may also have served as places of worship.
We don ́t know whether this has been the case here at Bilden where there in all likelihood it ́s a question of simple fire graves, dating from the early centuries in our time.
