Grønsennknipa is one of many signature hikes in Valdres, and gives you a perfect 360 degree view as soon as you have reached the top. The hike is family friendly and have no steep sections. The trail to the top of Grønsennhøgda is clearly marked and very visible from the starting point. Once you reach the top, sign your name in the log book and enjoy the view!
Access via Vaset (recommended driving route as it is one of the most beautiful routes in Valdres): From the E16, exit by the Ulnes church and follow the signs to Panoramavegen and Vaset (toll road NOK 40 in 2010). Continue on the same road in the direction of Nøsen and turn right by the containers, a few hundred meters before you reach Nøsen Fjellhotell. Keep going for another 4 km until you reach a road crossing at Buaråne. Turn right towards Jaslangen (another toll station NOK 30 in 2010) and continue towards Grønsennhøgda. Parking by the picnic area on the left side of the road.
Alternative access via Trollhovd: From the E16, exit by Røn over the Fosheim Bridge. Turn right and after 1,5 km left towards Trollhovd. Follow the gravel road through the toll station (NOK 40,- in 2010) and keep straight. Turn right at Nørre Trollhovd and keep driving until you reach the parking area at Grønsennhøgda (which is to the right when coming this way).
Where to stay
We would recommend a stay at Gomobu hotel if you are planning to stay at Vaset for several days. There are a lot of activities and places to go hiking and you could easily fill 3 to 4 days with hiking, fishing in mountain lakes and mountain biking
