About Sognefjellshytta

At the top of the Sognefjellsvegen it has always been natural to stop. For tourists the reason is probably the iconic peaks surrounding Smørstabbreen, clearly visible in the east. For the hiker there are trips to Fannaråken, Skogadalsbøen and Utladalen. For the cross-country skier, Sognefjellet has become an international arena for training with skis, a season that lasts up to mid-July. In early May you might be surprised how high the snow is before you again delve into the spring with fresh green leaves on the way down to the Sognefjord or Lom.
