About Nature Experience Chair 'Soaring Feeling'
The nature experience chair was created by Peder Istad in 2013. Per Joel Andersson worked together with Peder to perform the practical work.
We wish to invite people to come and visit the diverse and species-rich nature that exists along Land’s and Etnedal’s watercourses with our exhibition ‘Nature Experience Chairs in the Dokka Delta Ecosystem’. The nature experience chairs can be found in diverse ‘nature spaces’ from Synnfjell in the north to Randsfjorden in the south. Art installations can act as trip destinations to encourage people to spend more time outdoors and develop a different perspective of nature. The diverse nature spaces tell a story of the landscape through the seasons and the relationships that exist between people and nature. We welcome the rain and the wind, the smell of mires and blossom, bubbling becks and ephemeral views, ancient creatures and the flapping of wings. Nature is always inviting and welcoming!
Are in nature can be used to encourage people away from vulnerable conservation areas to designated ‘nature spaces’, offering the same experience without damaging the balance of nature.
Take a walk to the artwork, enjoy being surrounded by nature.
There are 13 different nature experience chairs placed in different environments in Etnedal, Nordre Land and Søndre Land:
• Bird’s Nest
You will find Svev at Seterhaugen, east of Trevatna in Søndre Land. To reach Trevatna from Hov follow rv34 towards Fall. Follow the signs towards Trevatna and drive along Trevassvegen around Trevatna for approximately 9km, passing the exit to Damvegen on your right-hand side. You can park along the road by the exit to Bysvegen.
Cross the road and follow the signposted footpath towards the nature experience chair. The footpath crosses areas of mire so good footwear is recommended. After approximately 1km you will find a forest road, follow this to the nature experience chair. Follow the path north and back to Trevassvegen. Follow Trevassvegen south to the start point or cross the road and follow the path towards Trevatna and after this south and then east back to the start point.
• Bring plenty of water as there are no possibilities to refill along the way.
• Good footwear is recommended.
• There are swimming and fishing possibilities here. You need to pay for a fishing licence to fish.
• Good fishing possibilities in Trevtana lake.
